One of the coolest things I've seen done with rubber is this line of clothing. Yeah, sure, transportation and medicine are important, but what's life without art? These fine fashions are courtesy of Amazonlife, a Brazilian company reviving and reinventing rubber. The fabric, called Treetap®, is made from rubber, and has the texture and appearance of leather. By using rubber as a source, the perils of leather (destruction of rainforest for grazing, cruelty to animals and people, etc.) and vinyl (war, pollution, etc.) can be sustainably avoided.
