this is the botany program i'm involved in. this page has a link to a ton of cool pictures of local plants. check out the ethnobotany page to learn a bit more about the types of classes i'm taking.
and here you will find the homepage of the amazon conservation team, a group of folks working to preserve the beautiful amazon basin (where you will hopefully find me working in a few years). mark plotkin (one of the folks working with act) was my first inspiration to get involved in ethnobotany. he has written several good books accounting his travels and experiences working in the field, and i would highly recommend them to anyone interested in ethnobotany or just looking for a fun read about poisonous animals, mind-altering drugs, and the reclusive mystique of shamens.
