8/2005 – present COORDINATOR, Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching and Technology. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Information Technology. Direct management and operations of campus technology resources (fiscal, human, and material). As Coordinator of the Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching and Technology (CELTT), I manage a staff of approximately twenty full time professionals including faculty, information technology specialists, electronics technicians, audio-visual specialists, media specialists, and administrative support personnel.
CELTT is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering high quality computing and media resources and services for student learning, administrative operations, faculty and staff development, and delivery of instruction and services. CELTT:
- Coordinates, develops, and implements the College’s technology plans;
- Develops and maintains the College’s voice, data and video networks;
- Develops and supports local area networks within instructional and administrative facilities;
- Conducts demonstrations to familiarize faculty and staff with equipment available and to enable them to operate equipment;
- Supports the development and delivery of distance education using a variety of media, such as broadcast television, cable television, web-based instruction, or other forms of digital delivery;
- Supports curriculum innovation using computers or media technology in the classroom;
- Develops and maintains computing programs and services for both academic and administrative uses;
- Works with College program heads to formulate budget requirements especially in the area of technology and technology uses;
- Evaluates and makes recommendations on the purchase of technology;
- Maintains and repairs media and computing equipment, including the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs;
- Trains faculty and staff in various computer applications and use of media;
- Provides telephone/telecommunication services; and
- Develops and implements applicable policies and procedures.
The Center has five workgroups that report to the Coordinator: Administrative Support Staff; Instructional Multimedia and Distance Learning, Information Technology Unit; Audio-Visual/Repair & Maintenance; and Professional Development Leaders.

Grant reviewer for the higher education component of the HP Technology for Teaching Grant Initiative. HP’s $10 million Technology for Teaching Grant initiative is designed to support innovative and effective uses of technology in the classroom setting. Each Spring, fewer than forty reviewers were selected from a pool of over a hundred applicants. Reviewers were selected on the basis of their knowledge and experience in applying technology to teaching in ways that positively influence student learning.
8/2003 – present INSTRUCTOR, Information Technology program, Business Education Department, Kapi`olani Community College, University of Hawai`i. A full-time tenure-track position teaching courses in the Information Technology and Information and Computer Science programs. Courses taught include Computer Applications, Technology Tools for Business, Intro to Computer Science w/Java, C++ Programming, Applied Database Programming with Visual Basic and Visual Basic.NET, and Internship.

Teach ETEC 442 Computers In Education and ETEC 644 Programming Concepts/Structures, both are three-credit courses. ETEC 442 covers integration of technology into the K-12 curriculum and use of word-processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software. ETEC 644 covers basic computer programming using the C++ language.
