STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

The College of Agiculture in addition to its academic programs offerings, have several student organizations. They are: National Agri-Marketing Assocation (NAMA), Collegiate Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Agricuture Club. All of these organizations are registered with the UHH Student Associations (UHHSA). The college of Agriculture has a student representative on UHHSA. The current student senator is Mr. Tavita Togia, a student from American Samoa majoring in Agro-Ecology.

All of the student organizations are active here. Below is a brief description of their activities:

Agricutlure Club

Current President: Janean Serrao
Facutly Advisors: Dr. Michael Shintaku and Dr. Bruce Mathews

Activities:
  • organize the annual awards banquet to the graduating seniors
  • foster friendship among student and faculty by organizing volleyball games and bowling tournaments.
  • conduct fundraising for the club by selling plants and meat cooked in a Hawaiian Style underground oven (called an imu).
  • interact with the FFA high school activities.


Collegiate FFA

Faculty Advisor: Dr. Lorna Arita-Tsutsumi

Activities
  • assist the local high school chapters with their district contests. Example: judging various competitions
  • offer help with the State conference with their events
  • informal gatherings for collegiate members who are high school alumni.
