POEMS, PAINS, AND PLEASURES

I am not a poet. But when I am confronted with high or low feelings of pain or pleasure, it is the language of poetry that most naturally provides me with a refuge, a comfort, a release, a place to celebrate all the goodness or hide from all the meanness of this world.

For me, poetry is a language of freedom from the constraints of everyday prose.
