
Mariana Maduell is a linguist and a Spanish dance professional currently away from her base in Honolulu, Hawaii, collaborating on research concerned with coordination and synchronisation of rhythm at the Sensory Motor Neuroscience group at the University of Birmingham (UK). She has recently completed an MBA at University College Northampton (UK).
Dr. Maduell's linguistic work is centered on language use in the performing arts (especially flamenco) and computational lexicography. Her MBA dissertation work dealt with Operations Research and large ballet companies, with emphasis on Senior Management and modelling considerations. Her Spanish dance work is focused on flamenco ensemble work at the general level and more specifically on flamenco technique, styling, and choreography. She also choreographs contemporary Spanish classical dance and works with musicians who wish to adapt solo material to accompaniment.
