Experience

Electronic Resources Student Assistant. Hamilton Library. Honolulu. July 2004 - present.
Update, enhance and maintain the University of Hawai`i at Manoa electronic resources database of more than 27,000 online databases, journals and e-books using Microsoft Access. Assist with Web site updates and graphic design. Worked in acquisitions portal of Voyager.

Web Support Student Assistant. Hamilton Library. Honolulu. June 2005 - present.
Update and maintain Web site for college research library (http://libweb.hawaii.edu). Assist with digitization, design and maintenance of online archive collections.

Library Intern. NOAA-NMFS Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center. Honolulu. August 2005 - present.
Assist with content migration following Web site redesign (http://www.pifsc.noaa.gov/library). Maintain the library holdings database using ISI's Procite software. Assist with original cataloging of library materials. Barcode books and materials using SIRSI Workflows software. Digitize NOAA-NMFS reports.

Webmaster. KTUH FM. Honolulu. May 2005 - present.
Design, update and maintain Web site for 24/7 radio station (http://ktuh.org) operated by students at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa using PHP, HTML and CSS. Assist station staff with creation and maintenance of personal show sites. Served as co-production director, assistant program director and general manager, April 2000 Ð May 2002. Since September 1999, have presented a weekly three-hour show, "Suffragette Station" (http://listen.to/ssonktuh).

Webmaster. Ka Leo O Hawai`i. Honolulu. May 2004 - August 2004.
Responsible for weekly content updates for University of Hawai`i at Manoa student-run newspaper. Edited stories in HTML code using BB Edit and prepared images for Web using Adobe Photoshop.

Editor-in-Chief. Ka Leo O Hawai`i. Honolulu. May 2003 - May 2004.
Oversaw production of University of Hawai`i at Manoa daily student-run newspaper with a print circulation of 14,000. Manage 11 editors, 50 writers and photographers, and $94,000 annual budget. Supervised hiring and training of new staff members. Planned, coordinated and laid out special issues.

Sports Editor. Ka Leo O Hawai`i. Honolulu. May 2002 - May 2003.
Directed and produced coverage of University of Hawai`i at Manoa athletics and other sports for daily student-run newspaper. Managed staff of six writers and two photographers. Organized and maintained sports beat system. Was responsible for layout of all sports pages. Designed pages using Quark XPress 4.1. Served as Interim Visual Editor January - May 2003. Have written articles since January 2002.

General Manager. KTUH FM. Honolulu. May 2001 - May 2002.
Oversaw 24/7 radio station operated by students at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Managed 15 directors, 60 disc jockeys, $71,000 annual budget, and related activities, including power increase to 3,000 watts. Served as assistant program director and co-production director, April 2000 - May 2001. Since September 1999, have presented a weekly three-hour show, "Suffragette Station".

Radio Operator. Hawai`i Public Radio. Honolulu. April 2000 - present.
Record and edit satellite feeds using AudioVault. Responsible for two, separate program feeds for 24/7 radio station that broadcasts on four FM frequencies. Engineered "The Music of Hawai`i," a three-hour show of contemporary Hawaiian music.

Board Member. Student Activity and Program Fee Board. Honolulu. Fall 2000 - Spring 2002.
Responsible for allocating student fees to University of Hawai`i at Manoa student organizations and campus departments.
