About Lori
Lori Ann Saeki is a second year master's student in Library and Information Science at the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. She is the current president of the UHM American Library Association Student Chapter, and has served as the editor of The Basement Blotter, the ALA-SC newsletter, since Spring 2003.
Lori is coming off a one-year term as editor-in-chief of the UHM student daily, Ka Leo O Hawai`i. Prior to her tenure as editor, she also served as Ka Leo sports editor for a year and interim visual editor during the spring 2004 semester. She also has worked with KTUH Honolulu, the UHM student-run radio station, for the last five years, including a year as general manager in 2001-2002. She continues to host a folk music show at the station on Thursday afternoons.
Lori participated in the student print project at the 2004 National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association National Convention in New York in layout and in Los Angeles in 2003 as a reporter. She also participated in the student radio project at the 2002 NLGJA Convention in Philadelphia.
Lori has experience in: newspaper reporting, editing, layout and design; Web site design and maintenance, including knowledge of HTML code; radio broadcast and production; database maintenance.
Lori has worked with: Voyager, Quark XPress, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe GoLive, BB Edit, Sound Forge, Protools, AudioVault, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Powerpoint, Keynote, multiple telnet programs (including SecureShell), multiple FTP programs (including Fetch and Fugu), notepad (for web publishing).
