Three species of Pisonia are found on O`ahu that range in size from a large shrub to tree up to 15 m tall. Leaves are large and broad, up to 30 cm in length.  Pisonia spp. seeds ooze a sticky resin which Hawaiians used to catch birds for harvesting feathers.
