Hibiscus arnottianus takes the form of either a shrub or small tree up to 10 m in height and bears subtly fragrant white flowers at the ends of branches.  This species is found primarily in mesic to wet forest in the Ko`olau and Wai`anae ranges on O`ahu and Wailau Valley on Moloka`i.
