Ardisia crenata is an introduced species first recorded in Hawai`i in 1930 and is native to southern Asia.  This shrub can reach 1.5 m in height, has leathery leaves with margins rolled toward the underside, white to pinkish flowers, and red fruit.  It is found in disturbed areas in mesic valleys and forest and is on the state's list of most  invasive horticultural plants.
