Well, not a whole lot is new, I guess. In any case, this is the first time in a while that I've revised this page.
All the articles in my NLP archive are now in HTML format, which should make them much more readable for most browsers.
The Ramblings page now has quite a bit of new material, including a number of articles on Ezra Pound.
There's now a separate page indexing the main lists of links throughout the site. A lot of these lists (for instance the ones for movies, San Francisco, and Hawaii) are pretty idiosyncratic though, because they're more for my own convenience than anyone else's. In particular, I don't make much attempt to keep a lot of them up to date.
The various literary links, including my reading list and the book reviews, have now been put in a separate literary directory. Also there's a new directory for movies, including a number of new commentaries on various films.
Mostly I've stopped worrying so much about what's here being discovered by the ``wrong'' people -- to wit, administrators and my students. I've realized that neither administrators nor students have either the willingness or the capability to read more than three paragraphs. (Occasionally one does encounter a bright student, but I'll take my chances.)
Therefore I've allowed myself to make even more personal disclosures than before. In particular, I've now written the 1984-1997 sections of the autobiographical material, as well as some commentary on my sabbatical in San Francisco in 1997-98, which is not very compatible with the dignity and pompousness people expect of a professor. (But then nothing else I write or do is either!)
On my mathematical pages there are a few new pages, but not many.
