Aloha and welcome to Masami's webpage!
BACKGROUND:
I was born in snow country, Niigata in Japan. When I turned 3 years old, my family moved to Tokyo so I grew up in Tokyo.
Since my grand-parents still live in Niigata, I visit them every
summer. Unfortunately, I cannot go to see them in winter time so
I haven't seen snow for a long time. I studied French literature
at the Meijigakuin University in Tokyo and earned BA there. While traveling US, I stopped by Hawaii
and liked here very much so I decided to come to the University of
Hawaii to earn MA degree in teaching Japanese as a second language.
Since my graduation, I have been teaching Japanese at the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as an instructor in Japanese.
