LIS 592 Standards Based Curriculum Using Computers
This introductory course will focus on standards based curriculum utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the computer environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the Hawaii Content Standards and National Standards. (Software covered will be ClarisWorks, Kid Pix and other popular software used in the schools.) Macintosh computer lab will be used for hands-on experience

This introductory course will focus on utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the technology environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the instructional design process utilizing the latest software that could be used in any classroom. (Software covered will be ClarisWorks, Kid Pix and other popular software used in the schools. Macintosh computer lab will be used for hands-on experience.) Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" floppy disks, and curriculum resources used in their classrooms.

Basic telecommunications concepts such as telnet, gopher, e-mail, ftp, and
the World Wide Web pages will be explored using a Macintosh environment. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disk, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.
