1995 - 3rd Annual Technology Institute at Ewa Beach
Technology is all around us and is affecting everyone. We need to prepare students for their future. Educational Technology is a field of study which deals with complex, integrated process involving people, procedures, ideas, devices and strategies for analyzing problems and devising solutions to those problems, involved in all aspects of human learning. Educational technology has a total commitment to search systematically for new and effective ways of organizing the teaching and learning process.
The magic of technology has added another dimension to instruction. The 3rd Annual Technology Institute at Ewa Beach has evolved into a series of courses focusing on instructional design utilizing appropriate technologies for an integrated curriculum for all classrooms. Technologies and resources from many schools are brought together to provide the classroom teachers with a rich learning experience.
Course: Technology For All Classrooms (Level 1A) (2 crs)
This introductory course will focus on utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the technology environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the instructional design process utilizing the latest software that could be used in any classroom. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disks, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.

Course: Technology For All Classrooms (Level 1B) (2 crs)
This introductory course will focus on utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the technology environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the instructional design process utilizing software, laserdisc, and cd-rom that could be used in any classroom. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disk, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.

Course: Multimedia in the Classroom (Level 1) (2 crs)
This course will focus on utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the technology environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Three dimensions that are critical in implementing the supportive technology will be explored: Curriculum, technological tools, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants will be introduced to CD-ROM, laser disk, computer equipment, and compatible sound, graphics and text software. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disks, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.

This introductory course will focus on utilizing video technology to support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the instructional design process utilizing still video, video production, and the editing process that could be used in any classroom. Participants will be asked to bring VHS or 8mm video tapes, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.

This introductory course will focus on integrating video and computer technology to support the classroom teachers' program. Participants will be introduced to the instructional design process utilizing the digitization process that could be used in any classroom. Techniques in utilizing video spigots, scanners, and digitizers will be taught. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disks, VHS or 8mm video tapes, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.

This course will focus on utilizing a variety of tools and courseware in the technology environment that will support the classroom teachers' program. Methods of instructional design will be incorporated to use technology to support learning. Three dimensions that are critical in implementing the supportive technology will be explored: Curriculum, technological tools, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants will be introduced to electronic desktop publishing and presentation, animation, technology assessment and interactive multimedia. Participants are encouraged to bring technological and non-technological tools to support the curriculum. Participants will be asked to bring 3.5" HD floppy disks, VHS or 8mm video tapes, curriculum resources, equipment and software currently used in their schools.
