Here's an inversion and chinese characters of my name ... read it upside down! See my cartoon drawing. See my paper cut. Here's my clay image and charcoal drawing.

What is Magic!?! When the magician saws the lady in half, we don't REALLY believe it. If the magician is good, we FORGET we really don't! This is called "suspension of disbelief", and is a fundamental principle of magic. Our success in suspension of disbelief hinges on our deliberate application of illusion, theatrics, misdirection, slight-of-hand and the promise of surprise... and entertainment! With these tools and practice we can work magic. You know that if you can imagine it, you can make it happen! "What is magic?"... "Magic is fun!".

Magic symbolizes something that is unattainable in this world, or when the impossible is possible. Magicians make the impossible come true with comedy, spectacle and brevity. Everyone loves a magic show, people love to be astounded by magic tricks and wonder "how did they do it?" Was it sleight of hand? Was it smoke and mirrors? Do they really have magical powers?

Greatness in teaching is just as rare as greatness in business, law, magic, or any other profession. Although the qualities that make great teachers are not easy to inculcate or duplicate, understanding these qualities can give all teachers a standard of excellence to strive for, and guide schools in their efforts to recruit and retain the best teachers.
