Our success in suspension of disbelief hinges on our deliberate application of illusion, theatrics, misdirection, slight-of-hand and the promise of surprise... and entertainment! Magic symbolizes something that is unattainable in this world, or when the impossible is possible. Magicians make the impossible come true with comedy, spectacle and brevity.
