Hull skins:
In most cases the second most important material element in a bodyboard is the bottom skin or hull material. This material function is more than just a slick surface, it usually adds structural support and ultimately it should enhance projection as well.
High density PE film:
The least expensive adding only a little stiffness, these skins also add very little projection. It scratches and creases easily and is generally found on lower priced boards.
High styrene:
Typically stiff, the most durable scratch and crease resistant material available. It does not enhance projeotion, and has a dull texture.
Surlyn:
Very glossy slick surface that is scratch resistant and enhances the projection of the board. It is prone to creasing and is expensive.
