Asthma in Seniors
Asthma is a common condition in school-age children. However, most children outgrow it, and only 2-3% of adults suffer from asthma. Sometimes, asthma first appears during late adulthood. Asthma in the elderly introduces a new set of complications, such as a lessened ability to cope with the stress it causes, coexistence with other conditions and illnesses, and an increased variety of drugs that might trigger attacks.
