History 151 Final Exam Global Essays Sample Format

This is a SAMPLE of what the Global Essay portion of the Final Exam will look like. All items are included, although on the final only a selection of the terms will show up in each column and not necessarily in this order.

Part II: Global Issues (100 points)

This portion of the final exam covers the whole course. You must write TWO (2) essays, worth 50 points each, one on each of the following two questions:

  1. Why is a knowledge of pre-1500 history essential for global citizenship today?
  2. What are the implications of crosscultural interactions in history for the future of humanity?
For EACH essay, you must use six items, one from each of the six lists in the table below. You cannot use an item more than once, so each essay must have its own six items different from the other essay (e.g., 12 items total, 6 in each essay). Please list your six items at the top of your essay.
