Timing of Events Pre and Post conference Workshops will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 6/4, and Monday, 6/9. Workshop participants need to find their own way to the college on those days.
Participants can pick up their packets starting Tuesday, June 3th, at the Bistro, Ohia Building, KCC. Once packets are in hand, many questions will be answered.

To get to KCC, it's about a two mile walk around the back of Diamond Head. From the hotel, walk toward Diamond Head and keep it on your right. You'll walk along a street that changes names from Monsarrat to Diamond Head Road. There is also a bus, $1, #58, along Kuhio avenue, that will get you to KCC from the Pacific Beach.

Conference Hotel: You can call The Pacific Beach Hotel at Call 1-800-367-6060. They are booked for the conference dates, but the Pagoda Hotel is their *sister* hotel, a couple of miles away.

Here's a picture of people at the Waikiki Beach chess boards, on the beach directly across from the hotel.

What Time Is It There?: Hawaiian Time is really later than other standards. In fact, in Hawaii people come late for everything, usually between 1/2 hour to an hour late. In fact, if you're on time for an event, usually your hosts aren't ready yet. C W97, however, will run on time.
Conference Coordinators:

Judith Kirkpatrick, Asst. Prof.(808)734-9331
Janice Cook, Asst. Prof. (808)734-9174
Dr. Steven Singer, Com. Lab Mgr.(808)734-9189
Alison Regan, Asst. Prof.(808)956-3068
Weather Check: Plan for warm weather. Leave all traces of wool behind. Perhaps one sweatshirt for evenings might be needed in Hawaii about 20 nights per year. Sandals, rubber slippers [zoris/shower shoes], or jogging shoes are worn by just about eve ryone for most occasions unless you need to go to court. Be sure to bring a visor or hat to keep the sun off your face.
