- Follow up on e-portfolios
- Information on ACE Portfolio Technology was provided
in a PowerPoint file by Darren Cambridge and presented by Tanya. The PowerPoint is available upon
request.
- Some concerns concerning Malama Hawaii e-portfolios
- Eventually the grant for the software will run out
- At that time will the school take over the cost
and the responsibility of maintaining the e-portfolios?
- Knowing learning outcomes beforehand would have
been helpful in creating the programÕs infrastructure
- Malama has the ability to manipulate program
aesthetics and text
- However, it is unable to change the ÔengineeringÕ
- This semester Malama will finish e-portfolio
prototype, next semester it will implement the e-portfolios.
- Idea: structure e-portfolios (on institutional
level) around the 9 FISPE learning outcomes
- Use a rubric to connect attitudes to student
learning outcomes
- Ex: how did your assignment connect you to your
community?

- ESL students come here with a 3 year plan which
makes them ideal for e-portfolios
- E-portfolios provide student an opportunity to
reflect on why they have to take certain classes, ex: history
- The e-portfolios will begin to follow a group of
ESL IT majors

students reliability, willingness to learn, and responsibilities

students are understanding what they are being taught
