With so many cultures mixed together in this melting pot we call home, it is easy to brush aside the culture of the first people to inhabit the United States. We celebrate the customs of countries from all over the world; however, we have an amazing heritage right in our own backyard. The Native Americans are steeped in tradition, with a strong connection to the water, earth, and sky. Of utmost importance to the elders, is the passing on of their culture and traditions to future generations. In this fast-paced world, growing technologically in leaps and bounds, it becomes a challenge to explain to the youth, the necessity of carrying down such a valuable culture.
