   Resolution

Introduction

Resolution is determined by your ability to distinguish small objects that are close together. Resolution becomes more difficult as objects become smaller and closer together. At some point objects will "fuse" together and become indistinguishable. This point is the resolution limit of the microscope, and it is a critical parameter that every microscopist should understand.
