Rain

By: Keoni Dunn

Rain.

Falling like sheets billowing in the wind.

Rain, spray from the ocean far above our heads.

Rain, the creator of beauty and destruction.

Rain, like a visitor whose footfalls are soon forgotten.

Rain, a visitor who can inspire songs, create memories, and instill emotion.

Rain, the tears of the Earth.

She cries for our foolishness and greed.

She cries for everything we take from her... forever.

She cries for her children, who never grew up, because they will soon be gone.

And she will be left alone... with her tears.

Rain.
