Curriculum
The broad goal is to revise STEM courses currently offered at UHH and to introduce new STEM courses built on a Hawaiian cultural foundation (i.e. courses that reflect an understanding of the symbols and practices of importance to Hawaiian students). Faculty will make links between faculty development exercises and classroom activities.
New STEM Courses at UH-Hilo:
- NSCI 197 Fall 2005: Watershed Science in Hawai`i
- Instructor: Steve Lundblad, Ph.D. Geology
- NSCI 197 Fall 2003: Introduction to Natural Sciences (Syllabus (pdf))
- Instructors: Ronald Amundson, Ph.D. Philosophy, Olga Cordero-Brana, Ph.D. Mathematics, Philippe Binder, Ph.D. Physics.
