TESTING
CENTER POLICY
PHOTO
ID REQUIRED
All students taking a test are required to show a photo ID at
check-in, and at other times when requested by testing center staff.
Acceptable forms of identification include a driver's license, state
ID, military ID, passport, and a University of Hawaii campus ID
card.
PERSONAL
PROPERTY
All personal property must be placed on the bookshelves provided.
Students will not be allowed to access their property until after
they have completed their test.
FOOD
AND DRINK PROHIBITED
Food and drink are not allowed at the testing stations.
ONLY
EXAMINEES ARE ALLOWED IN THE TESTING ROOM
For safety reasons and courtesy to other testers, children are
not allowed in the testing room. Children under the age of thirteen
may not be left unattended in the Library for any period of time.
Library staff will promptly contact parents of unattended children
or notify campus security and/or juvenile authorities.
COMMUNICATION
WITH OTHER STUDENTS PROHIBITED
Communicating with or collaborating with other students during
a test is a violation of academic integrity. Instructors will be
notified and a report may be filed.
TEST
SECURITY & RESTRICTED ITEMS
Calculators, language translators, textbooks, notes and/or cribsheets
are considered restricted items and may only be used with instructor
permission. To ensure test security and the integrity of the exam
being administered, testing center staff and student proctors have
the authority to inspect any restricted items before allowing its
use during a test. Restricted items may also be inspected at other
times when requested by testing center staff.
UNAUTHORIZED
USE OF RESTRICTED ITEMS
The use of unauthorized items on the restricted list during
a test is a violation of the 'Academic Dishonesty, Cheating, and
Plagiarism' section of the Kapi'olani Community College Student
Conduct Code.
The Testing Center staff and student proctors will investigate all
incidents of academic dishonesty. The Testing Center staff and student
proctors also has the authority to confiscate and/or stop the test
being taken if there is probable cause to suspect a test taker has
used an unauthorized restricted item. Instructors will be notified
and a report will be filed.
PROHIBITED
ITEMS
Cell phones, cameras, and audio/video recorders are considered
prohibited items and may not be used in the test processing area
or testing room. All electronic devices must be turned off
and stored out-of-sight and out-of-reach.
