COMMON QUESTIONS ON TEST AVAILABILITY
AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Do I need to make
an appointment to take the Foreign Language Placement Test?
tests are administered on a walk-in basis. No appointments or reservations
are needed. On Monday-Thursday, check-in is open from 8:30 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m. On Friday, check-in is open from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
We are closed on weekends and on most state and federal holidays.
do I need to bring with me to take the Foreign Language Placement
a photo ID and a document showing your UH student identification
number (UH ID Number). If you do not yet have your UH ID Number,
please bring a completed Request
for UH Number form to the Kekaulike Information Service
Center in 'Ilima 102 before coming in to test.
QUESTIONS ON TEST TIME LIMITS
the Foreign Language Placement Test have any time limits?
The foreign language placement tests
have no time limits. You should plan on spending about 2 hours to
complete all sections of the test. Please read through the directions
carefully, and answer all questions. If you need help, ask the proctor.
COMMON QUESTIONS ON TEST RESULTS
do I get my foreign language placement test results?
results of a foreign language placement test are available as soon
as your test session is complete. Return to the Testing Center counter
to pick up your results.
forgot to print my results and closed the browser. What do I do?
the Internet browser is closed, the Testing Center will not be able
to access your score. Please contact Satoru Shinagawa at 808.734.9709
or via e-mail at email@example.com
to get a copy of your placement test score.
COMMON QUESTIONS ON THE SPEAKING
results indicate that I should take a speaking test - what next?
If you are placed into a language at the 202 level, please contact
the instructor to arrange a speaking test. The results of a speaking
test will determine whether you are qualified for a course at or
above the 202 level.

All foreign language
placement tests with a result above the 101 level must be submitted
to the Kekaulike Information Service Center in 'Ilima 102 or you
will not be able to register for your course.
