Abdelhalim I Abdelhlim, Ph. D.

Dr. Abdelhalim is an architect, planner and educator from Egypt. His architectural and planning work focuses on community development and have won several awards, including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture 1992 cycle for the cultural park for children in Saiyda Zienab, the Arab Cities Award 1993 for Abu El Dahab Street Community Development project, and the Egypt State Merit Of Excellence in Art & Architecture 1999 for the Palace of Art in Gezira.

Dr. Abdelhalim received a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of California Berkeley, an  M.Arch. from the University of Oregon , and a Graduate Diploma in Housing & Building Technology from Cairo University. He has taught at several academic institutes, including Harvard University, MIT, Boston University, University of California, Berkeley, California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Cairo University, and the Assiut University.
