Plant Ecology

Lecture with complementary laboratory to introduce students to observational and experimental techniques to study plant ecology in terrestrial ecosystems.

Plant Form and Function

every Spring semester

Lecture and laboratory to examine the anatomy, physiology, morphology, and functional ecology of plants. Labs will develop skills in microscopy, experimental techniques for studying plant physiology, and basic functional ecology.

Graduate Courses

Topics in Plant Functional Ecology

BOT 612
every other Fall semester, odd years (2015, 2017, etc.)

Seminar course to discuss theoretical and experimental studies on a selected topic in plant functional ecology. In 2013, the focal topic was "Evolutionary Ecology of Plant Defense."

Scientific Teaching Tools to Promote Active Learning
