Vitex rotundifolia belongs to the family of verbenaceae, the flowering dicot plant. They are found in tropical and temperate regions (Carr).  They have silky, elliptic leaves and short petiole.  Secondary growth occur in the stems.  Vitex rotundifolia is considered as  one of the medicinal plants, and various compounds, flavonoid, iridoid glycoside, diterpenoids, and sesquiterpenoids have been identified in this plant (Watanabe, et. 1995).  A new natural cyclopentene dialdehyde named rotundial that presents in the plant was investigated and believed  having the function of mosquito repellent (Watanabe, et. 1995).  In this experiment, the anatomical of the leaves, petioles, and stems of the plants were studied.
