NICE Program: Listening Skills
for Learners of English: Useful Links for Practicing Listening

Here are some places to work on listening online!
Here are some nice collections of "links" to
other listening sites:
- Go to the ESL Study
Hall's listening section to find links to a variety of web sites for
listening practice.
- There are a lot of links to listening activities at The
Internet TESL Journal's listening page.
- Dave Sperling's ESL Cafe has several links to listening sites and provides
ratings by visitors! Check out some and add your ratings at ESL
Cafe Web Guide: Listening.
- Ohio University's Ohio
ESL has also compiled a nice set of links to listening sites, designed
for ESL and for general audiences. This is one of my favorite sites, not
only for listening, but for all aspects of ESL. Check out the homepage
as well!
- The ESL
Independent Study Lab links to many sites to practice. The sites are
arranged by difficulty.
Other interesting places to practice listening, not specifically
for ESL:
- National Public Radio (NPR)
has many shows archived and transcripts available online.
- See if you can find words to your favorite Engish songs at http://www.lyrics.com/!
- Want scripts for a movie or TV show? Try Script-O-Rama!
These are are only a few sites to help you get started and enjoy practing
English online. Try your own searches and let me know if you find any other
useful sites! Aloha, John
This site has nothing to do with studying
English, but you can help feed someone for free!
