- The Spider's
Apprentice- This site compares several of the major search engines.
It also provides background and strategies for using these engines.
- TITLE's
On-line Tutorials - Canterbury Christ Church College tutorials on Word,
Excel, Windows, Power Point etc.
- iBoost
has free online html and desktop publishing tutorials for beginners and
more advanced computer users.
- Learn The Net
has all sorts of fun things yyou can do to become famaliar with the web.

- Fill
out this form to download free Real Player Basic. Download and
install the software from this site.
- The Adobe
Acrobat Reader allows you to browse portable document format (PDF)
files that have been created by Adobe Acrobat. This will also allow you
to read ebooks and has the ability to download and install Asian font packs,
which enable you to view PDF files that contain Chinese, Japanese, and
Korean fonts on non-Asian operating systems using Acrobat Reader.
- The British
Broadcasting System (BBC), watch and listen to news from a different
part of the world. Get a different perspective on world events and listen
to a different kind of English. An interesting resource for a comparative
study of English use and pronunciation. This site REQUIRES either RealAudio
or Windows Media Player software.
- The History
Channel Hear the words that changed the world. From Martin Luther King,
Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech to Lou Gehrig's farewell to baseball,
this vast collection is drawn from the most famous broadcasts and recordings
of the twentieth century. A very wide and very interesting selection of
famous speeches covering topics throughout history and from
across the globe. This site REQUIRES RealAudio.

- Dave Sperling's ESL Cafe has several links to listening sites and provides
ratings by visitors! Check out some and add your ratings at ESL
Cafe Web Guide: Listening.
- Ohio University's Ohio
ESL has also compiled a nice set of links to listening sites, designed
for ESL and for general audiences. This is one of my favorite sites, not
only for listening, but for all aspects of ESL. Check out the homepage
as well!
- Radio, books and language links from the globe, you name it it's here.

create or upload and maintain your web page!
- Hotmail
is a favorite for students because it has it's own dictionary and spell
checker.
