My name is JD McWilliams. I lived in Las Vegas for three years before moving to Hawaii, and I can tell you a thing or two about the nightlife, the gambling, and life in general in one of the most exciting cities in the world.
Las Vegas sits in the middle of the desert and in the summer, the temperature can reach above 115°. Even at 9:00 at night it can still be in the 90's, which is a weird experience if you're not used to it- walking out of an air conditioned building at night into what feels like a dark hairdryer.
Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in America. It's an expanding city with lots of opportunity. But what it's most known for is its night life- the gambling, the strip clubs, the free drinks- and the fact that most of the city is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.

isn't the only thing to do in Las Vegas. It has expanded itself beyond just being the home
of gambling. Only 30 minutes away from Hoover Dam and Lake Mead to the East, and mountains
and hiking trails to the west, Las Vegas has more to offer than gambling. |
