Submit Your Workshop Materials to Workshop Central
If you have workshop outlines, activities or handouts that you would like to share with Workshop Central, please read the Submission and Review Process and the Workshop Outline Format below. If you are using materials that have been previously published or were developed by someone else, it is important that you give proper credit in the Sources / References section as well as obtaining any necessary permission to reproduce copyrighted materials. Workshop Central will not be able to publish materials that appear to violate copyright laws or professional standards of citation.
Submission and Review Process
- If you would like to submit materials for publication on Workshop Central, please send three paper copies of all materials to the editor / webmaster:

- Please submit your materials in the Workshop Outline Format described below. If you are submitting a workshop outline that includes handouts or overheads, please indicate on the outline where the hyperlink to these materials should be located by underlining the title of the handout. For example, Distribute Ten Strategies for Stress Management handout.
- Members of the Workshop Central Editorial Board will review your written materials. If your submission is accepted, you may be given suggestions about how you can modify the materials to make them more useful to our users.
- If your materials are accepted for publication on Workshop Central, you will be asked to submit a final copy on a computer diskette. Each document (e.g., outline, handouts, etc.) should be stored as a separate file. Please submit a written list of files with the diskette to make them easier to load onto the Internet.
- After the diskette copy of your materials has been received, your materials will be published on the Internet. You will be asked to review the document on the Internet so that any errors can be corrected.

Workshop Outline Format
For workshops that you have developed and are contributing to Workshop Central, please provide the following information:
- Title of Workshop
- Authors(s)
- Counseling Center and University Affiliation (or equivalent)
- Goals - One to three sentences
- Group Size / Target Audience - Indicate the recommended group size and any other criteria for your target audience such as "Designed for members of an ongoing work group" or "Designed for Resident Assistants."
- Time Required
- Materials - List any materials or props which are needed.
- Physical Setting - Describe the ideal size of room, type of furniture and how it should be arranged. Would this work in an auditorium? Do participants need to move around?
- Facilitator's Outline - Provide instructions for each segment, written in active voice so that presenters can speak from the materials. Provide the estimated time required for each segment. Please hypertext or underline the titles of handouts and/or overheads. If you'd like, you can use categories from Four Fundamental Types of Workshop Learning Activities to describe the learning activities described in your workshop outline.
- Suggestions for Facilitator - What can be done to help this workshop succeed? What kinds of issues usually come up in the discussion?
- Handouts / Overheads / Slides - List of titles of handouts / overheads / slides. Please include or link these to your outline.
- Sources / References - List sources in APA reference list format. If any lecturette or parts of handouts were adapted from any of these sources, indicate clearly on the outline or handout that the material was adapted by putting a reference on the page itself [e.g., (Jones, 1997) or (adapted from Jones, 1997). If any material was "lifted" then authors must get permission from the publisher to include it on the web page and the permission obtained should be clearly indicated on the handout or lecture notes.
- Submitted by - Author(s), Counseling Center, College or University, E-mail (if you are willing to answer questions), Date (date the workshop was developed).
- Copyright Information - If you are submiting original materials to Workshop Central, you are encouraged to claim a "copy right" to your work. You can do so by adding a statement like this:
