Illustrative work or development notes:

Development took place over two semesters fall 2011/spring 2012.Tools used included CS5 Flash, and dreamweaver. Google blog site was also used for development. Practices included standard ISD and ADDIE models to produce this final project.

Project Conception:

Project was based on the need to offer for remote students not located in Hawaii interested in marine species identification.

Teaching Strategies:

Strategies implemented included building a community of learners as well as chuncking of instructional materials (Pomales-Garcia, 2006). ADDIE method of instructional design was format was a focal point in project development, especialiy the evaluation and feedback into improving the final product.

AECT Standards discussion:

AECT domains utilized the National Council for Accreditation ofTeacher Education (NCATE) standards of 1) Design, 2) Development 3) Utilization 4) Management and 5) Evaluation. Using AECT standard the plan was to create a long term usable product using the best available instructional tools available. Using flash dreamweaver CS5 in the development of this project helped significantly with this goal.

How Peer review and faculty feedback helped in project development:

Review and feedback consisted of initial design review with colleages provided strong input into the reiterative ADDIE process. Faculty feedback provided insight into improving this instructional design process. Constant peef feedback was instrumental into the success of this project.
