Course Description: Ethology is the study of adaptiveness of behavior within the animal's world. This course will introduce students to basic concepts of animal behavior from a strong evolutionary perspective. We will focus on the evolutionary and ecological significance of behaviors such as feeding, attracting mates, caring for young, avoiding predators and defending a shelter.
