Ah New Orleans, the city of the dead, of voodoo and of course Madi Gras.  For the most part, I enjoyed my trip which was totally a new experience for me.  It is certainly a city that is so different in many ways then San Francisco which I visited in August.   I attended a 3-day national water quality database conference at the infamous Hotel Monteleone.  STORET, which is abbreviated for store and retrieval in its simplest definition is an EPA water quality data repository database.  Anyway, enjoy my digital photos capturing my memories of the city.  As you will see, I have not covered much of what the City has to offer.  I wanted to see the cemetaries were New Orleanans bury their dead above ground (because of the high water table level) in tombs and crypts (if you are wealthy).  Though the City thrives on its tourism for its financial impetus, it is losing a battle against an ever increasing murder rate at the time when its losing its police officers mainly due to the low wages.   Over the weekend I was there, there were at least five homicides, so naturally it was a concern that I did not wander freely among the streets....Oh well :o(.

Please use the navigation table below as I showcase my digital pictures.  I used the Canon A95, a 5 mega pixel camera (I would recommend this camera to those who are fall between a novice and professional photographer).  Click on the thumbnails to see a larger image. Note the webpages are best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer.  Enjoy!
