Soaring through the Friendly Skies

Wow. I could not believed that my plane ride on United Airlines from Honolulu to my final destination in New Orleans was going to last around eleven hours!  I left Honolulu on November 14 at approximately 7:20 a.m..  Made a connecting flight in Los Angeles (thanks Tina for the chat while I waited!) at 4:40 p.m. (2:40 p.m. Hawaii time) and finally arrived at my destination at about 10:20 p.m. (6:18 p.m. Hawaii time).  There was wet weather so I could not see much of the city and town lights below.  Because of the constant turbulence, I was really nauseated for the last leg of the trip.  If we flew another 15 more minutes, I would have puked!  Now I know that my body can't endure such a long flight. When I got in NO, I made sure I bought a couple of motion sickness pills.

The flight back to Hawaii was much longer!  I left NO at a delayed time of about 7:50 a.m. (4:00 a.m., Hawaii) because of a tested missile launch.  Our pilot had to wait from the control tower for an alternate flight route. I arrived in LA at about 9:43 a.m. (7:43 a.m.).  Travel time between NO and LA is about 3.5 hours.  From LA I left at about 11:30 a.m. and finally arrived in Honolulu at about 3:30 p.m.   On the trip from LA to Honolulu, there were two unattended children, probably still in grade school. Boy were they a ruckus! arrrrggg.  The return trip took nearly 12 hours!  Anyway I never flew this long and boy did I feel uncomfortable for seating so long.  My back ached on my return trip....mmm. wonder if its old age.  Enjoy the pictures below.

No its not the a painted "cool orange colored" left wing of the Boeing 767 aircraft, nor was the wing glowing hot!  It is actually a reflection of the sun as it is shines from the west coast.  I thought it was a cool effect.  No I did not doctored this photo! I shot the photo on my trip to NO from LA.

If you look closely you can see the lights from towns, houses, below as we pass through a state as we flew to NO.
