Miscellaneous

I decided to place these photo here that I could not categorized.  Though not the least, I hope you will find my story interesting :o).

In the Jackson brewery on Decatur, I came across a food court.  This the first time I've tried NO style boiled crawfish from C's Seafood and Subs.  Honestly, it was salty and there was very little meat in the tail. I would not recommend it.

On Monday, the 15th, many of the STORET participants hung out at Pat O Briens to celebrate the evitable retirement of Lee Manning, one of the early developers and guru of STORET legacy and STORET.  (By the way, to me Pat Obriens is a nice yuppies joint).  A distinctive feature I noticed is that there are overhead heater lamps; they really do a great job of keeping me warm.  I enjoyed meeting and talking to Lee.  Happy retirement Lee!

A bunch of the EPA STORET people went to the Gumbo Shop after having cocktails (beers, hurricanes, etc) at Pat OBriens on Saint Peter Street.  I am stuck the very far backend to the right of the photo.  Sitting to my left is Jay, who I swear is the other half of John Witeck who now works at the BWS.  John it would be a laugh if you met Jay.  He reminds me so much of you.  To the far right of the photo is my STORET coordinator, Eric Wilson.  I had the Creole combination plate of shrimp creole, Jambalaya and shrimp etoufee.  It was delicious.  I also sampled the seafood okra gumbo.

I took this photo of the Preservation Hall while walking on Saint Peter, a landmark in New Orleans.  Here you can hear the greats of "New Orleans style" jazz.

And for those who I work with, at the CCH wastewater department, I had to take a picture of the NO manhole cover.  Its appears to be a customized design, note the convex feature.  Looks like a turtle shell.
