Hotel Monteleone

An interesting feature of my trip is the fact that my hotel, Hotel Monteleone, is located in an old neighborhood, in the Vieux Carre or French quarter of NO. Four generations of the Monteleone family has operated the 4 star hotel.  It is said that the hotel is haunted by former guests and employees.  In fact, because of the frequent unexplained activities and sightings by hotel employees and guests, the International Society of Paranormal Research "camped" at the hotel.  They were able to communicate with a dozen ghosts!

Well I stayed on the 12th floor which is below the 14th floor (no 13th floor) where supposedly some of the sightings were reported.  I have not personally seen any ghostly image but one thing I noted is that the elevator sometimes stop on different floors for no reason.

I suppose being from Hawaii, I was fortunate to have a deluxe guest room with a king size bed. The bathroom had marble and granite counter tops.  There were nice ornamental moldings, high ceiling and a chandelier in the bedroom. Wish, though that the Internet access was free.  Oh I had a nice view of the Mississippi River.

A spa and heated pool is located on the rooftop.  I got a chance on my second night to use the fitness room which is equipped with an universal training station and a couple of treadmills and stair master.  While using the treadmill, I had a spectacular panoramic view of the Mississippi River.

This beautiful and antique grandfather clock sits in the hotel's lobby.  Employees believed that a ghosts often checks it to make sure it has the right time
