READ
CAREFULLY AND WITH CONFIDENCE. Read all announcements, directions, and
guidelines very carefully. Read them more than once to make sure that you
understand exactly what you're expected to do. If the task is complex, print a
hardcopy of the document. The online environment is radically different from
the F2F classroom. Don't expect the instructor and your classmates to respond
to your questions if the answers are already clearly spelled out in web or
email documents. Furthermore, don't expect them to be "understanding"
if you fail to follow guidelines that are clearly spelled out. You are
responsible for knowing and meeting all the requirements for the various
assignments. Finally, you must have confidence
in your ability to accurately understand written directions. If you need
constant confirmation that your understanding is correct, you should not be in
an online class. The instructor and your classmates won't have time to reassure
you that, yes, your understanding is accurate.
