September 27, 2007Submission Deadline: October 7, 2007 Job Description Evaluator will: *conduct a process evaluation of the Implementation Strategy for each activity, including performance re: the initiation and completion of specific tasks and accomplishments of the tangible results expected for each task and how the 3 activities coalesce; *develop a performance evaluation for each of three activities over 3 years (2007-2010), including analysis of Student Records data* as needed for each activity to compare to Baseline source data requiring tracking of Native Hawaiian student applications, registration, course enrollments, persistence, and graduation, (persistence and graduation rate of Native Hawaiians compared to non-Hawaiians; data will be gathered by Title III/MCC staff) for proven Academic Quality. *data could also be in the form of focus groups, pre and post surveys, student GPAs, interviews most of which will be gathered by Title III/MCC staff. Deliverables * develop quarterly interim reports and a final report on the annual performance of the Title III project and its activities; * present at 4 meetings per year with all Title III and related MCC staff on report findings Minimum Qualifications Applicant must: be familiar with Native Hawaiian (NH) issues, community needs, culture, value systems and socio-economic history. be familiar with the inner workings of the University of Hawai'i system. have a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of evaluation experience. Terms of Employment Pay range from $25 k (negotiable) per year, one year at
a time. Quarterly lump sum payments will be made to the employee upon completion
of the appointed tasks for each quarter, task completion approval based on the
discretion of the Project Coordinator. Employment to begin by December 1, 2007. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance and availability of funds. Must be willing to travel to Maui a minimum of 8 days per year (travel costs will be paid for by the grant), have a valid driver's license and be able to rent a car.
