Organizational historyJune-July 2005: Survey to ascertain interest in forming a local evaluation association sent to members of the evaluation community. July 2005: Volunteer group of evaluators begin meeting to form association and to develop petition to AEA for offical affiliate status. September 2005: Petition signed by 29 evaluators sent to AEA. October 2005: Petition approved by AEA in Toronto, Canada. September 8, 2006: Inaugural conference in Waikiki attended by 69 evaluators and graduate students. Officers elected at the meeting. H-PEA first Annual "Evaluators' Exchange"The first Hawaii-Pacific based American Evaluation Association (AEA) affiliate hosted their first evaluation conference in Honolulu on September 8, 2006. At the all-day "Evaluation Exchange" conference held at the Radisson Waikiki Prince Kuhio hotel, distinguished panelists and keynoter Dr. Lois-ellin Datta talked about evaluation issues in the Hawaii-Pacific region; the association's draft by-laws was shared with the membership, and a slate of officers was elected to serve the inaugural year.
