Katie Howard
Home K-12 Projects Research

Welcome

I am a graduate student at the University of Hawaii, in the Department of Zoology and member of the Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology (EECB) Program.  My experience in K-12 education has been extraordinarily rewarding.  Not only have I benefited by honing my teaching and communication skills, but I've also had the opportunity to share the exciting world of science and an appreciation for our natural resources to students in Hawaii and beyond.

This site includes:

some of the projects I've developed
lesson plans I've created
information on a workshop our GK-12 program created for Palauan teachers
resources for information on  marine fish biology, coral reef ecology, Marine Protected Areas, threats to marine organisms

If you are a teacher or student interested in any other resource material, please feel free to contact me at howardka@hawaii.edu
