Call numbers and Spine label parsing in Voyager

Catalogers (original or copy) must parse the call number in the Bib Record to ensure correct call number formatting for spine label printing.  Parse the call number in the Bib record following standard LC Call number practice. Add the appropriate date to all monographic call numbers. This memorandum lists the general rule and all of its exceptions.
Standard call numbers are one to three letters followed by the class number (which may include a decimal), a single or double Cutter number, with the first Cutter always preceded by a decimal, followed (normally) by a date.
