Guidelines for Processing Gorey Collection titles

The following guidelines apply to titles received beginning in 1998 from donor John A. Carrollo, which are shelved in Special Collections, Gorey Collection.


1.   Call numbers.    For primary works by, and entered under, Edward Gorey, use the literature class number:  PS3557.O753 (subarrange by table P-PZ40) or the art class number: NX512.G67 (subarrange by table N6)

Assign appropriate LC classification numbers to other print works. Assign format-based accession numbers to non-print materials.

2.   Location.   Z Special Gorey (Voyager location code:  OuzXGorey).

3.   Descriptive cataloging guidelines:

4.   Label and link items by means of acid-free strips with barcodes attached and the call number written with an acid-free pen or typed.  Do not write on or stick labels or barcodes on the materials.  Examples:
