For computer playable media materials (DVD, VCD, CD):
- Attempt to play on your own work PC.
- If more than one media player is available on your PC:
- test each one, note version of software
- If disc will not play on your own work PC:
- attempt to play it on the shared AV equipment in Original Cataloging
If the media will not play on the shared AV equipment:
- Send it to Alexis Weatherl, Sinclair AV Center
- Tell her the results from all the tests you performed
- Request her to test it at on the AV Center equipment, and note the results
If the media will play on a machine at AV Center:
- Go there and examine the piece for preliminary cataloging ⁄ full cataloging
- If DVD will not play on any machine at AV Center,
- ask Alexis return item (along with the notes) to Acquisitions as defective.f
For videocassettes:
- Attempt to play on the shared video player:
If the videocassette will not play on the shared AV equipment:
- Send it to Alexis Weatherl, Sinclair AV Center
- Tell her the results from all the tests you performed
- Request her to test it at on the AV Center equipment, and report to you the results
If the videocasette will play on a machine at AV Center:
- Go there and examine the piece for preliminary cataloging ⁄ full cataloging
- If videocasette will not play on any machine at AV Center,
- ask Alexis to note results and return it to Acquisitions as defective.f
