MFHDs
For multiple volume sets
- set Type of record (located in Leader) to v, even if we only have one piece of the set
- Set the encoding level to 4
- Set the 1st indicator of the 866 to 4
- Set the 2nd indicator of the 866 to 1
- Describe our physical holdings in an 866 tag. i.e., v.2-v.5, v.9
- Close up spaces in the 866 field summary holdings statement:
v.1-v.9
NOT: v. 1- v. 9
Starting November 20, 2009, we no longer record the presence of accompanying material in books (maps, CD-ROMs, microfiche, etc.) in either the MFHD or the Item record.
For scores and parts that circulate as a unit:
- set Type of record (located in Leader) to x
- Set the encoding level to 4
- Set the 1st indicator of the 866 to 4
- Set the 2nd indicator of the 866 to 1
- Describe the physical holdings in the 866:
