There are two types of computer graphics: vector graphics and raster graphics. Raster graphics are commonly supported by most computer applications and include formats such as .gif, .jpg/.jpeg and .bmp. Most published graphics, or the final products that viewers see, are presented in raster format. However, the vector graphic format is useful in graphic design because of its unique qualities.
