People choose to volunteer at Hanauma Bay
for various reasons
YOU might be enticed
by the park's natural beauty and the opportunity to help protect it; or
maybe you'll be motivated by the chance to meet like-minded people in
your community or to fulfill a community service obligation; if you are
new to the islands you might be spurred by an interest in learning about
Hawaii's reef scene
Whatever your reason for joining our team, as
an HBEP Volunteer you will enjoy the following benefits:
- Free training and materials
- Monthly volunteer activity (past events have
included: movies, excursions, lectures, hikes)
- Subscription to our bimonthly Volunteer Newsletter
- Discount at the nature preserve's snack bar
- Free rides on the park's trolley (during your
volunteer shift)
- Discounted membership in our sister organization,
the Friends
of Hanauma Bay
- Letters of recommendation (after one year of
service)
- Invitation to our annual Volunteer Appreciation
